I came to see the Japanese Alps glowing red at sunrise… and ended up hiking Mount Karamatsu too! 😂⛰️

I thought it would be an easy hike, but it turned into a full mountain adventure. Totally worth the early start! ✨

朝日に染まる北アルプスを見たくて、夜のうちに東京を出発🚍
軽いハイキングのつもりが、せっかくなので唐松岳にも登ってきました😂⛰️今までで一番長いハイキングになったのとみんな日帰りしてるしおまけくらいに考えてたら水を600mlしか持っていかなかったのでほんとしんどかったです。

山が赤く染まる瞬間は本当に絶景。早起きして来た甲斐があった！✨

神の山🏔️石鎚山🏔️Mt.Ishizuchi where the gods dwell. ⛰️🌫️ Japan west highest mountain ⛰️

I took an overnight bus from Tokyo, caught a ferry from Osaka, and climbed Mount Ishizuchi from early morning, spending the night at the summit lodge.

The mist was so thick that I couldn’t see the sunrise. But I waited — and for one brief moment, the clouds parted to reveal the powerful presence of Mount Ishizuchi.

In Japanese mountain worship, mountains are more than landscapes. They are revered as manifestations of the divine.

For a moment, it felt as though the mountain had revealed itself only when it was ready.

東京から夜行バスに乗り、大阪からフェリーへ。早朝から石鎚山に登り、山頂の山小屋に泊まった。

深い霧に包まれ、御来光を見ることはできなかった。それでも待ち続けた先に、一瞬だけ姿を現した石鎚山。

雲の向こうから現れたその姿は、力強く、神秘的で、まるで山そのものに意志があるかのようだった。

日本の山岳信仰では、山は単なる自然の風景ではなく、神々が宿る存在として敬われてきた。

ほんの一瞬、その山の本当の姿を見せてもらえた気がした

涸沢カールのモルゲンロートKARASAWA CIRQUE — MORGENGRÖTE ⛰️6 hours of hiking for a few minutes of magic. 紅葉登山のシーズンスタート

I took an overnight bus from Tokyo Station to Kamikochi.

TIMELINE 🕐

05:30 Kamikochi Bus Terminal
Toilet + online entry registration

06:00 Japanese breakfast 🍚
06:20 Start hiking

08:12 Tokusawa
Break + ice cream 🍦

09:11 Yokoo
The real climb begins

12:36 Karasawa Cirque
Finally made it ⛰️

It was easygoing until Yokoo.

Then came the endless uphill trail and rocky terrain. With hikers coming down, we constantly had to stop and make way for each other.

With filming and breaks, it took me about 6 hours to reach Karasawa.

Arriving early paid off. I managed to get one of the last two plywood boards for my tent. Without one, apparently you may have to pitch your tent directly on the rocks… ⛺️

But it started raining the moment I arrived.

No stars that night, once again.

The next morning, I woke up at 03:00 to pack up. Still drizzling.

I came all this way to see the morning glow, but the sun seemed completely hidden.

And then, for just a few moments, the clouds opened.

The mountains turned red and gold.

After six hours of hiking, the rain, the rocks and the endless climb…

It was worth every step.

The autumn colours in Murodo, Tateyama (2,450m), are now at their peak. 🍁

Autumn in the high mountains is incredibly short-lived. With temperatures expected to drop sharply next week, the scenery will quickly shift from vibrant autumn colours to the first snowfall and bare branches.

If you’re looking for a mountain adventure over the Sports Day long weekend, Tateyama is highly recommended. 🏔️

Kishiwada Danjiri Festival 💪岸和田だんじり祭り

都内から夜行バスに乗って、日帰りで大阪へ。
前からずっと行ってみたかった「岸和田だんじり祭り」に行ってきました🇯🇵

I took an overnight bus from Tokyo and made a day trip to Osaka to finally experience the Kishiwada Danjiri Festival — a festival I had wanted to see for years.

春に桜の撮影で来て、無事に今回も大阪に来ました！ @citykishiwada

This trip was also inspired by a work opportunity I had in Osaka during the cherry blossom season. It felt special to come back and experience the city in a completely different season.

街中を大きなだんじりが駆け抜ける迫力と、地元の人たちの熱気に圧倒されました。

Watching the massive danjiri floats race through the streets while the whole town comes alive was an incredible experience.

300年以上続く伝統と、地域の人たちが大切に守ってきた文化。
一度は現地で感じてみたかった祭りでした。

A tradition with more than 300 years of history, deeply connected to the local community. This was one of those Japanese festivals I truly wanted to experience in person.

A bonfire night in Tokyo, right by the Tama River.

It’s hard to believe you can enjoy a proper campfire like this without leaving the city.

I’m going camping next week, so this was also a perfect chance to practise setting up my tent ⛺️

There’s something so relaxing about sitting by the fire, listening to the trains go by, and simply doing nothing for a while.

For this night, I wore a beautiful gown from rinma and just relaxed by the fire 🔥

東京からすぐ、こんなに気軽に焚き火を楽しめる場所があるなんて。

多摩川の河川敷で、電車が走る音を聞きながら焚き火を囲む夜。
来週キャンプに行く予定なので、今回はテント設営の練習も兼ねて⛺️

焚き火を眺めながら、何もしない時間って意外と贅沢。

今回はrinmaさんの @kuma_pokke0209 ガウンを着て、火のそばでゆっくりリラックスしました🔥 @mehlographylab
